William was sick for the first time last week. He was up every hour from 2:00 am until 6:30 am last Tuesday so I knew something was wrong. After taking a two and a half hour morning nap (which is long for him these days) he woke up with a temperature of 103.3! After a panicked call to the pediatrician (first time Mom), William was given Tylenol at the advice of the nurse and his fever was down to 100 degrees by the time he went to bed and was normal the next morning. He is still a little stuffy but is back to his normal self! It was so sad to see him so sick and it broke my heart to see him so out of it. I did enjoy the cuddling which does not happen so often these days!

Sick :(
William was sick for the first time last week. He was up every hour from 2:00 am until 6:30 am last Tuesday so I knew something was wrong. After taking a two and a half hour morning nap (which is long for him these days) he woke up with a temperature of 103.3! 9 Months Old!
Our little man is 9 months old. He is actually less than a week away from being 10 months old! We went for his 9 month check up a couple of weeks ago and he is perfectly healthy and right where he should be in terms of his development. He is still on the small side in weight but measures long. His pediatrician was happy with where he is at which makes us very thankful to have a happy, healthy baby.
William is developing so much personality which is so much fun to watch. He is very curious about the world around him and reaches and grabs for EVERYTHING! He is extremely busy and crawls everywhere fast. He is also very vocal and enjoys literally screaming with delight. It is not so nice for Mommy and Daddy's eardrums and we have started to try and discourage these outbursts which always seem to get worse when we are in a restaurant. We want him to have a voice but not such a loud, earpiercing one!
On the eating side of things, William is now enjoying a variety of foods and I try to add new options into his diet regularly. He still enjoys oatmeal and/or rice cereal with banana for breakfast and has also tried blueberries, zucchini, avocado (a favorite), parsnips, sweet potato, carrots, quinoa, applesauce, and most recently yogurt, chicken, and green beans. He prefers fruit over his veggies but will eat anything that is mixed with banana. So sometimes he has a mixture of quinoa, zucchini, and bananas or parsnips, carrots, sweet potato and bananas. You get the picture. Weird, but it gets him to eat. He is also starting to refuse me feeding him and wants to feed himself more often so I have started to cut up small pieces of banana and cheerios for him to eat on his own. Then I sneak in a bite of food here and there. Mommy has a few tricks up her sleeve!
Perhaps one of his biggest accomplishments in the last month is that William is now sleeping through the night (something I don't like to talk about because I don't want to jinx it)! His napping is now shorter during the day but I guess that is the trade off. My boy has never been a sleeper. Kind of like his Mommy who also does not like to nap! I guess we just don't want to miss out on anything!
I think that is all for right now. William continues to be a joy in our lives and we are blessed to be his parents. He is so much fun these days and I look forward to seeing him develop into a little person.
